The NC Subvets were well represented at this year’s WWII Memorial Service at Kings Bay Submarine Base.  There were 16 of our base members from Carolina Piedmont, Nat Greene, Tarheel, and USS Asheville Bases present.  George Bass from the Nat Greene Base was the lone WWII Subvet from North Carolina.

This year was the 20th Anniversary of the St. Marys Submarine Museum who along with the USSVI – Kings Bay Base head up the memorial service.  Adm Moran Vice CNO was the key note speaker this year and he focused on the bios of some of the 16 WWII Subvets that were present at the memorial service.

The number of WWII Subvets attending is getting less and less so if you have never attended one of these memorial services you need to do it in the next year or two.  Next years’ service will be held on November 3, 2017.
