Moonshine Mountain Memorial Gathering

Join us for the annual gathering on Armed Forces Day to honor the Lost Boats during World War II. It has been 20 years since the first gathering at Moonshine Mountain by the NC WWII Submarine Veterans and USSVI Tarheel Base Submarine Veterans. Remembering the “Lost Boats” today is no less important than it was then. The Moonshine Mountain Memorial is the work of TMC/SS Harrell Flowers, a WWII Submarine Veteran who passed away in 2001 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. This year the remembrance ceremony will be held at the Lost Boats Memorial at 1000 and the NC Sub Vets meeting at Big Lynn Lodge at 1400. Registration forms must be received by April 22, 2024
