DESCRIPTION:Memorial Day Ceremony at the S-28 Monument followed by a base picnic at noon. \nJoin the Battleship NORTH CAROLINA for their 60th Annual Memorial Day Observance as people from all generations gather on deck to pay their respects to all who have served this great country. Featuring a military guest speaker\, a Color Guard\, a 21-gun salute\, a military band\, taps\, and a memorial wreath cast into the waters. This is a great way to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for America. The ceremony usually lasts approximately an hour and begins at 5:00 p.m.

DESCRIPTION:Join us in Thomasville\, NC for the largest Memorial Day Parade in the Southeast! The Parade begins along Main Street across from the water fountain at the corner of Main Street and Salem Street. The parade will turn down Salem Street continuing to Memorial Park (Stadium Dr.) ending with a moving ceremony at Cushwa Stadium (201 Stadium Dr.). The parade will be led by two WWII veterans and there will be professional floats\, Military vehicles\, Gold Star families\, and more to see. Come for this patriotic parade and stay for a very meaningful ceremony after. There will be a wreath laying ceremony\, 21 gun salute\, tributes to our Gold Star Families\, free food and drinks\, and (weather permitting) paratroopers flying into the stadium.\nCollapse description
