Members and guests from North Carolina Submarine Veterans Bases attended the May19-21 Moonshine Mountain Memorial. USS Asheville Base Commander, Joe Schmidt, did an outstanding job with Saturday’s meeting of the bases and coordinating the Moonshine Memorial activities. Our thanks to the Sea Cadets who participated in the Tolling of the Bell Ceremony and honor guard. The Old Glory passage touched everyone. Again, the folks at Big Lynn did an excellent job hosting our gathering. Rick Pettit and members of Carolina-Piedmont and USS Asheville Bases are to be commended for their work in making this year’s gathering a success.
